The Start of Stella's Story

Wednesday, July 26th, We got home from the lake at about 9:30pm and I was exhausted. Theodore didn’t sleep well the night before at the beach. I went to bed and spent Thursday getting back into the routine of being home, unpacking, going to the grocery, playing with Theodore, and visiting with my sister. She came home with us for a few days to visit. Friday morning, July 28, Brian and I woke up and got ready for our 4 week check up appointment with our Midwife at our doctor’s office. Jessica was taking care of Theodore that morning and was headed to the library with Brian’s sister and our nephew for some fun filled Learner’s University. We pulled into the parking lot of the Doctor’s office and we prayed for our baby girl and headed inside. We waited longer than normal it seemed like to head back to the examination room. The nurse came in first and asked if I had any questions I told her I didn’t know why our Doctor wanted my ultrasound rescheduled and added extra appointments. She lo

Waiting for Answers

The Saturday after the gender reveal party we left for vacation with my family to attend Bible Missionary Conference at Beulah Beach in Vermilion, Ohio. As we sat in morning church service on Sunday, July 23. I whispered to Brian, “I have something to tell you, you promise you won’t be mad?” He whispered, “Yes, what?” I whispered back, “I think we are going to have a baby with something wrong like Down Syndrome, something is off with our baby girl.” Brian was in shock that I would ever say something like that about our baby. I didn’t know why I felt that way, but as I sat there even if something was wrong I knew our baby girl would be okay. At 4:30pm on Monday, I checked my phone and at 4:13pm the Maternal Fetal Medicine Office called and said they had an order from my doctor to move up my anatomy ultrasound and that some additional appointments need to be schedule. I thought that was very strange, but tried to call back and I was a minute too late the office closed at 4:30pm. The

Team Kaser Grand Slam Gender Reveal

Thursday, July 20 was the big day my appointment was at 4:30pm. My mom, sister, Theodore, and of course Brian came with me. In our package, I added a stuffed animal that could have the baby’s heartbeat recorded, so I could listen to it whenever I wanted and I figured it would be a fabulous gift to Theodore from his baby brother or sister. The appointment went fine except baby was not moving much. Baby Kaser was lying very low in my pelvis and seemed to be sleeping on the placenta. The ultrasound tech took a few images and then left and asked me to get up and walk around to see if we could get the baby to move to get some better images. After jumping up and down, walking around, laying down, standing up, baby was not moving more. The tech took a few more images and scheduled me for a recheck August 24 to get some better 3D/4D images of the baby since he/she would not move away from my placenta. Finally, the tech identified the gender and then we went home. Later with clo

The Beginning

I always thought about possible writing, but never thought it would be in this way. My name is Julie and my husband and I Brian are expecting our 2nd child in December. On Friday, July 28, I was 19 weeks, and we had our 4 week check up. Leading up to this point things have a been a bit different with this pregnancy then they were with our 2.5 yr old son Theodore. I found out I was pregnant on Thursday, April 20, during our spring break. I told Brian the next day and needless to say he was quite surprised. We were planning to have a baby at some point during the 17-18 school year just not quite in December, but the Lord always has the master plan. We shared the news with immediate family and close friends. We had our first ultrasound to confirm the gestation of the baby on Thursday, May 4. Everything looked fine and baby’s heart rate was 129 bpm and was measuring as we expected and would be due December 22, 2017. My next check-up was Thursday, June 1. I would be 11 weeks the next d
