Some other news the insurance company denied our appeal for the CellFree DNA Genome Blood Screen that we did on August 1. In a letter we received the insurance company stated, “The Medical Director has stated since there are significant malformations on second trimester ultrasound, invasive diagnostic testing (amniocentesis) is the preferred diagnostic test per Paramount Health care policy. If there is a medical exception, this may be submitted for reconsideration.” This makes me angry and upset, but Brian and I choose not to do an amniocentesis that day and still won’t due to the risk of miscarriage an amnio has and it doesn’t matter what that test would show. Oscar is our son and we will take care of him. The Lord blessed us with his life and he is our baby!
On a lighter note, I was able to make some connections with a nonprofit Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. The work these individual photographers do is priceless. They provide professional remembrance portraits to families free of charge when the baby may be born stillbirth or not thought to live long. I emailed the 2 coordinators yesterday for our area and the 5 local photographers that came up on the list. Do you know what...every single one of those individuals (2 coordinators/5 photographers) contacted me back in less than 12 hours. That spoke volumes to my soul and how important these individuals know their work is and the photographs are to the families they work with. I have yet to meet any of you personal, but thank you. You are are on this journey with us now as well and I am honored that each of you said in your emails you would so selflessly dedicated your time and work to my child and family.
Sticking his tongue out for a picture. Theodore and he will be great when it comes to family photos of all of us. |
Oscar saying, "no photos, no photos I am sleeping just now." |
He worked the entire My Little Me recheck trying to get his thumb in his mouth. This is the last shot the tech took. Success! |
Last, but not least Oscar received 2 beautiful handmade blankets this week. Both from dear friends of our family. One is a crocheted baby blanket and the other a throw quilt embroidered with his name and nickname. The throw quilt I am actually borrowing from Oscar and it is my new blanket around the house until he arrives :-).
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you for supporting and praying with us on this journey.
you are so very special, and loved
